Lab Assistant

Position: Lab Assistant (Maker Lab)

Department: School of Architecture and Planning 

Location: NICMAR University Pune

Qualification: Diploma in Architecture or related field. Desirable - Bachelor's Degree in Architecture.

Experience: 5–8 years (Institutional / Industrial)

Technical & Soft Skills Required:

1. Strong knowledge of the 3D printer, Robotic Arm and CNC Laser cutting, A1 size plotter
2. Experience with operating and maintaining these equipment
3. Knowledge of relevant software
4. Ability to teach students how to produce models/prints using the lab equipment
5. Ability to coordinate with external agencies for purchase and maintenance of lab equipment

Job Responsibilities:

1. Ensure smooth running of the Maker’s Lab
2. Manage operation and maintenance of the lab equipment
3. Maintain accurate records of equipment usage/complain logs and repair/maintenance history
4. Teach students how to produce models/prints using the lab equipment
5. Suggest improvements and grow the lab progressively towards futuristic education
6. Coordinate with AMC vendors and external service agencies for effective maintenance.
7. Ensure all maintenance tasks comply with safety standards and statutory regulations.
8. Initiate purchase requisitions for materials/services and coordinate with the Purchase and Accounts departments.
9. Identify and implement automation improvements and energy-saving initiatives
